What is a Candidiasis?
It is a condition where a naturally occurring strain of yeast known as candida albicans has grown in excess, causing numerous digestive and intestinal symptoms. Toxins produce from the excess growth can enter the bloodstream and cause more symptoms such as brain fog, headaches, joint and muscles aches. It is cause by a lack of good bacteria which can keep yeast at the low normal levels that should be present. There are many types of yeast in our intestines, mouth, urinary and vaginal systems. Some are beneficial and only a few can cause problems and only do so when in excess. The purpose of a Candidiasis protocol is to inhibit the yeast in order to allow the good gut bacteria to growth and re-establish the balance.

SOME SIGNS AND SYMPTOMS OF CANDIDA OVERGROWTH

Many of these symptoms can be indications of other issues as well, but having a number of these symptoms may indicate that Candidiasis is present. There are so many signs and symptoms of Candidiasis that it was impossible for us to list them all here.  If you want to get a better indication of whether or not you are struggling with this, be sure to fill in our form below  to receive your email access to download our Candidiasis Questionnaire. If you are experiencing a number of these symptoms, I highly recommend downloading the questionnaire and scheduling a FREE consultant to learn about our different approach to understanding candida and rebalancing the body.

So You Think You Have Candida - Now what?

First we need to determine if you actually do have a Candida imbalance or overgrowth.  You can download our link before and fill out the Candida Questionnaire. This will give you a very good indication if your dealing with a Candida overgrowth or not.  Generally, when my clients return this back to me with a strong indication of Candidiasis, we just go straight to work.  Sometimes its just very obvious with all the signs and symptoms they are struggling with.  You might already know that this is your cause of your health challenges.  But some people want more confirmation.  You have two more options to confirm this for you. The next option is a Candida Spit test. You can see in the images above what this looks like.  It's pretty simple. Set a glass of water next to your bed and first thing in the morning, before you brush your teeth, you are going to spit into the glass.  If your saliva stays floating on the top of the glass, then you likely do NOT have a candida yeast overgrowth.  If, within 20 minutes, you have cloudy formations in the glass or strings floating down, then you likely have a candida overgrowth.  If the saliva sinks to the bottom of the glass within the 20 minute time frame, you likely have a fairly extreme candida overgrowth.  If you find this, combined with strong results from the Candida Questionnaire, I highly recommend getting started on our Candida Protocols right away. You can email me at Candice@healthywifehappylife.com or request a free consult here to learn more about how to get started.  Lastly, some people really like to have the confirmation of a medical test. You can always request a comprehensive stool analysis from your doctor to test for candida albicans for medical confirmation.  The protocols would, of course, remain the same.

A New Approach

The problem with Candidiasis protocols is that they are too restrictive. They are not livable, long term solutions to the problems created by excess yeast and only address part of the symptoms that afflict individuals. The theory has always been that excess yeast is the only factor causing the problem. Get rid of it by starving it or killing it and the problem is resolved. Convoluted dietary protocols have evolved mainly with anecdotal evidence and while symptoms can often be resolved in the short term, long term issues are not and often new symptoms arise or the old ones come back. This approach does not address the complex interactions our systems have with each other or the nutrients they need to heal and maintain homeostasis, which is necessary for long term success. There is a new approach where you can enjoy a variety of foods that will enable you to maintain the diet long term resulting in extinguishing the candida for good. You can learn more about our new approach to Understanding Candida here.
